some updates

Actually I am thinking of waiting a few more weeks b4 updating everyone on it...but since some of u have already guessed it, I will just post here. Yes! I'm pregnant. about 8 weeks plus. The 1st 3 mths of pregnancy is normally not that stable, that's why people say must wait until 3 months then can tell people.

Now the baby is quite small...about 2cm plus only, hands and legs have not growth compeletly yet. I'm having quite alot of 'morning sickness', some people dun get any morning sickness, or some can be even worse. Mine is quite ok in the morning and afternoon, but when reached evening and night time....i will feel like vomitting....so for these few days, i have been vomitting all my dinner out.......and i got 100 days cough also, but cannot anyhow eat medicine now.

Have to wait a few more weeks, maybe the morning sickness will slowly goes off. I will be visiting my gynae again middle of Feb. By then if the scanning, everything ok, i will try to post the scan picture on blog, then u all can seen the picture of the baby when its only a few mths old....(biology lesson).

Yesterday, I seen quite a number of you in school. Somebody mentioned something, and I felt quite worried for some of you. For 4E1 and 5N1, u will be taking the new 'o' level chinese exam format. You will not be able to study for this new format and there is no zao ju or tian xie han zi etc. The only way is to learn the method of answering the comprehension....esp the one on writing. If there are 2 parts in the question, you have to answer 2 parts....and dun jump the sequence. answer the 1st part, then answer the 2nd part. And if the question say: explain why the mother expression is surprise, suspicious, disappointed, pain", u have to explain the 4 different expressions, cannot just explain one expression. And the answer will be quite long.....it cannot be short and yet u get 4 or 5 marks for that.

You u all faced any problem in getting the model answers for your workbook, please get help from other classes students......I have seen their workbook....they have the model answers to it. Please do not have the wrong impression that all the answers are short and sweet.

Please double check will other classes if u find doubts in things or questions that answers dun seems to fit it....I cannot say to explictly here......but this is very important....the new format is not easy....the way to answer qns correctly is the most important thing.

I am also teaching sec 4 express in the new school, thats why I know the questions in ur workbook.

And lastly, put more emphasis on ur composition.....marks for paper 1 is higher than paper 2. :)

don't be too disappointed!

Today Talentime, though we did not win, but to me, everyone is already a winner. Our Talentime performance gets better and better each year. And this year is the best so far I have seen. We lose to all the 'good' schools like SCGS, RGS etc.........but I know if it were to judge by district level 1st, we would have won something esp the drama item. But too bad they go by national level only.

Dun be too disappointed.........all of you have done ur best and I can see it. Farisha acting is very good. I think for drama we lose out maybe becoz of our command of English......have to admit their English is better than us......

Our song item is very entertaining too........
As long as we continue to work on it, there will be one day, we will be able to win something in Talentime......maye next year.

Talentime is over, now everyone just need to concentrate on footdrill.........I believe if the team is bonded, team spirit is there, morale is high........we CAN win something............
I wish everyone all the best for the coming Footdrill Competition.......:)

best photo

The photo below....attached to Ms Sng's message is one of the best photos ever taken in RC. The happy faces, as pretty as the sunflowers, or even prettier than the sun flowers.

Will I be able to see another photo like this?Everyone smiles so brightly like the sunflower....the team spirit, the pride, the happiness............ I hope the day will come, and I can pass the sunflower once again to everyone and let the happiness pass on year after year:)

Ms Sng message for Red Cross Footdrill Team!

Dear angels,

Below is a message from Ms Sng. I copied from her blog, just in case some of you miss the message. Or didn't know where to find her blog:) The wording in red:)

Unforgetable

For the past 3 years, only one thing was on my mind at the beginning of the year: Footdrill Competition. I'm sure my cadets are now training very hard for this year's competition. To all Red Cross Youth cadets, winning the footdrill competition is the most prestigious thing that could ever happen. Of course I wanted that for my unit. It would be the best thing I could do for my cadets and the school. After two previous futile attempts, we finally did it last year!
The events of the footdrill competition on 26 February 2005 are still vivid in my mind..... It was one of my best days in JWSS! My girls were the 1st runners-up for the West District Competition and emerged as the 2nd runners-up in the National Competition! Imagine we were placed behind schools such as RGS and CHIJ.... Woohoo! Look at the two trophies held by Fatimah (commander of the squad) and Sylvia (chairperson)! And look at all the happy smiles on the faces of the cadets..... Each of them deserved the award! My only regret is that Fatimah did not get the 'Best Commander' award. Nonetheless, she is the best commander ever in my heart. I could still remember the cadets and I crying and hugging together after the presentation of the award..... It was such an emotional and momentous day! I would liken that day to 14 July 1997 (My gawd! Has it really been that long?!) when ACJC was the Best Band of the Year!
If my cadets are reading this, I hope that those of you involved in this year's footdrill competition would work hard and maintain the standard and results that the seniors had tried so hard to achieve. Of course the going would not be easy. In fact, it would be tough and full of ups and downs. But that makes winning even sweeter at the end of the day! Good luck to JWSS RCY!

CCA open house

Today is my new school CCA open house. The atmosphere is entirely different from JWSS. The CCAs here are very vibrant and they can do alot of things that students in JWSS most probably not allowed to. eg. drinking and eating all around the school, bringing handphones to school, the students can climb up tall wooden structure they tied using wooden sticks and strings. They can shout and scream at the top of their voice. They can run around like crazy pple. Alot of fun. And during lessons, they are very chatty too.....noise level there is not a problem and the learning mood is great.

I will be taking Girl Guides as my new CCA. Something JWSS doesn't have and I always want to try out as I used to be a guide when I was in my secondary school. The Girl Guides there has a population of 27 only.

Frankly speaking, I do not miss JWSS, but there is still something that's always on my mind.......That is all the students/classes I taught in JWSS and also my RC cadets. Life is different in JWSS because of all of u. Without u all, my life in JWSS will be much more miserable.

Hope that very soon I will be able to visit u all in school. really miss the times we spent together
